Hunter's Fleet by Richard Johnstone-Bryden, author of The Royal Yacht Britannia --- The Official History, is a story in three parts about the unique Hunter's Fleet that starred in the BBC productions of Arthur Ransome's stories Coot Club and Big Six.

1. One man and his two sons struggling to build a business in the recession hit 1930s, maintaining it through the war years, 1939-1945, and then succeeding against the boating trends of the post war years.

2. A visionary educationalist who saved the unique boat yard and Fleet as part of his creative approach to the provision of public education.

3. The attempts by politicians to use the Fleet as a propaganda tool against John Major that spectacularly back-fired when the people of East Anglia rallied behind the Trustees who formed the Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust to save the precious vessels and their yard. The work of the Trust to make the Fleet financially self-supporting and the future ahead.
